Jackson Spells Out Her MRS Manifesto

In London, Hall & Partners' Global CEO Vanella Jackson has outlined her plans for her new role as Chairman of the Market Research Society (MRS); pledging to strengthen ties between research, business and government.

Vanella JacksonJackson will take up her new position on 1 April 2010, following the completion of Rowland Lloyd's two-year term. At this point, Lloyd, who is COO of Operations at Ipsos, will become MRS Vice President.

As well as her proposal to strengthen industry ties, Jackson's three-strand election manifesto involves supporting the industry through challenges presented by the economy, new technologies and emerging methodologies.

She has also called for greater protection and promotion of market research among business and international audiences, and for strengthening the leadership and collaboration between practitioners across the industry.

'It is a huge compliment to be chosen by the MRS membership to take over the reins from Rowland Lloyd - who leaves big shoes to fill,' stated Jackson. 'In this new role I will help the MRS to build on Rowland's work and so fulfil its potential in leading our industry and becoming a more active and positive voice.'

During her career in market research, Jackson has led both ad and research agencies. She has spent 20 years at some of the UK's top ad agencies, including BBH, AMV and JWT. She then joined Hall & Partners as European CEO in 2004, and was promoted to Global CEO in 2008.
