Former aMAP CEO to Lead MRUC

In India, the Media Research Users Council (MRUC) has appointed former CEO of Audience Measurement and Analytics (aMAP) Joseph Eapen as its new CEO.

Joseph EapenFounded in 1994, MRUC is a not-for-profit body of members drawn from major advertisers, ad agencies, publishers, and broadcast media. The body, which facilitates and ratifies the findings of media research, last year merged with the National Readership Studies Council (NRSC), to create a single research currency for the country's print industry.

Eapen joins with more than 18 years' experience in media research, gained in print, TV, radio, as well as in other forms of consumer research.

Most recently he worked as CEO at aMap, which provides Asia's overnight TV audience measurement system through its peoplemeter panel. He joined the firm in 2008 as Director of Research, prior to which he worked as Director of Planning at Draftfcb, Associate Director of Research at Bates PanGulf Media and as Head of Research at Mediaedge:cia.

In the newly created role, Eapen will be tasked with expanding the scope of research to areas beyond print and outdoor, as well as scaling the quality and quantity of research across different media.

'Joseph brings tonnes of relevant experience and will play a key role in transforming the MRUC into a vibrant organization that spearheads the cause of timely, credible and cost effective research across all media,' states MRUC Chairman Andrey Purushottam. 'I am sure he will make the MRUC far more responsive to the needs of its constituents.'
