TNS Appoints Youth Trend Expert

TNS has appointed Ian Stewart as Regional Director for Youth for the Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa region (AP MEA), charged with building a specialist youth practice and driving the firm's TRU teens syndicated service across the region.

Ian StewartTNS' TRU (Teenage Research Unlimited) offering grew out of an acquisition in 2007. The original service was established in 1982 to conduct research on teen behaviour, and its TRU Insights Program provides data and insights about teens across five continents and more than 25 countries.

Stewart joins with more than 20 years' experience in youth marketing in Asia Pacific, social media and music activation. Most recently, he worked at youth social network site Friendster, which he helped re-build, reposition and sell, prior to which he managed his own youth agency Filter, which he sold in 2006.

During his career, he has worked as SVP and Consumer Strategy Director at MTV Networks Asia; Head of Trend Research at Synovate; Strategic Planning Director at Ogilvy & Mather; Trend Manager at Coca-Cola and Research Manager at Market Behavior Limited (MBL).

According to Han Delin, TRU's VP Global Insights, Stewart's 'research background, global perspective and years of teen marketing experience in Asia and other emerging markets make him an asset to TRU, TNS and most importantly our clients.'
