Social Media Firm Jive Closes $30m Funding

In the US, software firm Jive - which owns social media monitoring specialist Filtrbox - has closed a $30m Series C financing initiative, which will be used to accelerate the development of its technology and drive its position in the social media sector.

Tony ZingaleJive acquired Filtrbox in January, and has since integrated the firm's real-time web conversation filter technologies into its Social Business Software (SBS) platform, to help clients develop products and engage with customers and brand influencers.

This latest round of funding has been led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB), with continued participation from Sequoia Capital.

As part of the deal, KPCB Partner Ted Schlein will join Jive's Board of Directors.
