LogicLab Hires Gugel for Chief Research Officer Role

In the US, media evaluation agency LogicLab has appointed media analytics specialist Craig Gugel as Chief Research Officer.

Craig GugelLogicLab was launched last year by database marketing agency Merkle. The firm uses consumer data for media evaluation, and its LogicLab Media Marketplace enables advertisers, agencies and media buyers to optimize and measure campaigns.

Gugel joins from the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), where as SVP Media Analytics he was responsible for managing the 360 Media & Marketing Super Council initiatives, as well as those for the ARF's Ad Effectiveness, Audio, Print and Video Councils.

Before this, he served as President of media planning software firm Telmar Information Services and Telmar HMS; as EVP, Worldwide Analytics & Strategy for Nielsen division IMS Worldwide; and EVP and Director of Strategic Insights at Optimedia International.

He began his career as a spot media buyer at Kenyon & Eckhardt, and later worked for several other ad agencies including McCann-Erickson, Foote Cone & Belding and Organic, and also founded his own research consultancy - Manhattan-Pacific Multimedia.

In his new role, Gugel will be responsible for managing LogicLab's research functions including consumer insights, internal and external training and education, primary research and data partnerships.
