Korean Office for Electronics Researcher

Electronics industry specialist IMS Research has opened an office in Seoul, South Korea, to be led by Harry (Sung Dong) Cho and with newly appointed Dkins (Dae Kwon) Cho as Senior Analyst for LEDs and Displays. A Tokyo office will follow shortly.

Harry Cho worked previously as VP of Sales and Marketing at Indilinx in Korea, VP of the Multimedia Division of PQI in Taiwan, and in engineering, marketing and sales roles at Samsung Semiconductor. Dkins Cho was formerly Director of LED Sales at Dominant Semiconductors Korea, and has also held engineering and sales jobs at LG International and LG Semicon.

IMS Research President Ian Weightman comments: 'We are continuing to expand our coverage of markets such as LEDs, Displays, Consumer Electronics, Semiconductors and PV, and an analyst presence in Korea is vital to ensure we have a deep understanding of the dynamics that will drive these markets. In addition, having a direct sales presence in Seoul will enable us to serve our Korean clients better.'

The firm already has European and US operations, plus analyst teams in China and Taiwan. Weightman says the Japanese office will allow better support for local clients, and improved research and analysis of key markets.

IMS Research was founded in 1989, and now has over 100 analysts worldwide with clients in over 50 countries. It is online at www.imsresearch.com .
