OzTAM Names Peiffer as New CEO

OzTAM - Australia's official source of television audience measurement - has appointed Doug Peiffer as its new CEO, succeeding Kate Inglis-Clark who leaves after seven years in post. At this point, the details of Inglis-Clark's next career move are unknown.

Doug PeifferOzTAM measures and reports demographics for all free-to-air metropolitan and subscription TV channels. The media industry uses its data to assist in program development, ad planning and to gauge the performance of TV programs and networks.

The organisation recently agreed to appoint an independent chairman, following a complaint last year from broadcaster Network Ten about the way ratings were being measured for one of its digital sports channels.

Coincidentally, Peiffer joins from Network Ten, where he worked as General Manager, Client Integration Strategy and Research.

Prior to this, he was General Joint Manager, Director Media Australia at TNS; and he worked as ACNielsen as VP President Media Services Latin America at ACNielsen, and MD of Media Services in Singapore.

'Doug's understanding of TV ratings and the broader media research industry is unsurpassed,' states OzTAM Chairman Steve Weaver. 'He brings extensive media measurement, leadership, business development and technical skills, along with considerable local and international experience, to the role of CEO and is the ideal executive to take the reins from Kate Inglis-Clark.'

He added his thanks to Inglis-Clark - who is also a former ACNielsen exec - for her 'many achievements as CEO and her efforts in maintaining the credibility and integrity of OzTAM ratings service'.
