Simulmedia Opens L.A. Office

In the US, New York-based TV ad targeting company Simulmedia has opened a regional office in Los Angeles, and hired CNN veteran Charles Douglass to run it in the newly-created position of Director of Sales.

John PicconeSimulmedia, which was launched in 2009, has developed a TV ad platform that uses predictive technologies and anonymous viewing data from more than 15 million US households to help advertisers and their agencies reach their target audiences, and measure the results.

In April last year, the firm secured an $8m investment, which it has been using to continue development of its predictive technology and set-top-box (STB) driven marketing services.

Douglass worked most recently for BBC America as VP, Western Region Sales Manager (LA), managing West Coast sales operations for BBC linear and digital properties, while building a team of account executives, planners and assistants.

Before that, he spent 14 years at CNN Networks, most recently as a Senior Account Executive for linear and digital properties such as CNN.com and CBTN.

In his new role reporting to John Piccone (pictured), VP of Sales, Douglass will be responsible for strengthening Simulmedia's market positioning.

'Charles has nearly two decades of experience in national advertising sales, management and business development,' states Piccone. 'His proven track record of achievement in helping build value for new properties and his experience across a range of business functions and technologies, make him a valuable addition to the Simulmedia team.'
