Komli Separates CEO Role, and Seeks 50 Engineers

In India, digital media network Komli Media has promoted current COO Prashant Mehta to the role of Chief Executive Officer, replacing company founder Amar Goel who retains the role of Chairman. The firm plans a major recruitment drive as it opens a new engineering centre in Bangalore.

Prashant MehtaMehta, who will now lead all operational, financial and strategic areas of the business worldwide, became COO in December 2008 and has played a key role in building the firm's team and client base while revenues have soared by 600%. He also led Komli's acquisitions of PostClick (Australia) and Indoor Media (United Kingdom) in 2010.

Following its recent success in raising $15 million in funding led by Norwest Venture Partners, Komli has also announced the opening of a new engineering centre in Bangalore, and says it will back up its aggressive investment in products and platforms with recruitment of further engineering talent both here and in its existing engineering base in Mumbai. Across the two, it plans to hire more than fifty engineers in the next six months.

Mehta worked previously as VP and Head of Monetization for Yahoo!'s Emerging Markets Group, with responsibility for sales, business and publisher development, sales operations and advertising platforms across the region. Goel says of his colleague's promotion: 'I have very much enjoyed working with Prashant over the last two years, and can really think of nothing more exciting than having him take on this new role.'

Komli runs the online audience and ad measurement platform ViziSense, recently launched in the Australian market. Its other services cover brand marketing, performance marketing, social media and video advertising. Headquartered in Mumbai, it also has offices in London, Melbourne, New Delhi, New York, Palo Alto, Singapore, Sydney and Toronto.
