Former mruk MD Jim Law Goes it Alone in Glasgow

In the UK, Jim Law, the former Managing Director of Cello-owned social research agency mruk, has opened a new research consultancy in Glasgow, offering a full range of qual and quant services to clients in both the private and public sectors.

Jim LawLaw left MRUK last month, after 18 years with the firm, following a restructure which resulted in the closure of its operations in Glasgow, Bristol, Cardiff and Newcastle.

Prior to joining, he worked in the Scottish ad industry as Research & Planning Director at the Morgan Partnership, and as Production Manager at MCS Robertson and Scott.

The launch of his new venture - James Law Research Associates - comes after a six month period spent completing mruk's restructure.

'I wish mruk and the Cello group every success for the future, but I am pleased now to be moving on after a challenging six months as the company adjusted to the current public sector market conditions,' Law explains. 'I am particularly looking forward to getting back into working with clients and front line research projects.'

Alongside its full service offering, Law's new firm can provide services such as strategic advice, interpretation, and consultancy relating to all aspects of market and social research, insight gathering and communication planning.

Law will access a network of associates including field researchers and moderators, analysts, statisticians and other specialists, who will combine to form bespoke project teams. He intends however that the new company should remain small, to ensure he is personally involved in every project.
