Neurofocus Goes Wi-Fi and Dry
Neurofocus has announced Mynd, a new wireless and dry contact headset for measuring the brainwaves of consumers in product stimulation and purchasing environments.
 Unveiled today at the 75th Annual Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) conference in New York, the new headset will allow subjects to be monitored far more easily than by conventional devices in environments such as the home, cinemas and shopping malls with data being streamed to platforms including the iPad, iPhone and other smart devices. Mynd also has medical applications and will be used to empower people with neurological disorders such as spinal cord damage and strokes.
Key features of the new device include: full brain coverage with dense-array EEG; quick start up time; wireless transmission of data from the device; electrodes which function without the use of gels; suitability for in-home use and a comfortable, lightweight and aesthetically pleasing design, says the firm.
The device is endorsed by the European Tools for Brain-computer Interaction Consortium (TOBI), which develops practical technology for the brain-computer interface (BCI), improving the quality of life of disabled people and the effectiveness of their rehabilitation.
