Arbitron Promotes for CFO Role

In the US, radio ratings firm Arbitron has appointed Richard J. Surratt as EVP, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Sean Creamer who was promoted in June last year.

Creamer took the role of EVP, US Media Services, responsible for the Company's radio and cross-platform services and operations.

Surratt joined Arbitron just two months ago as Executive Vice President, Finance. He worked from 2007 to 2009 as President and CEO at education software company Voyager Learning, after two years as its CFO. Prior to this he spent six years as EVP, CFO and Treasurer at Atlantic Coast Airlines Holdings, Inc., the operators of regional airline Independence Air; and most of the 1990s at Mobil Corporation in roles including Director, Mergers and Acquisitions Group and Treasurer, Latin America.

He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and an M.S., Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences from The George Washington University. He is also a Director of Dallas-based education solutions company Cambium Learning Group.
