Former SensoMetrics Researcher Forms New Agency

Mark Stevens, formerly Research Director at Australian agency SensoMetrics, has set up his own sensory research agency, Sensory Insights, based in New South Wales.

Mark StevensThe move follows the retirement of SensoMetrics founder Dr Robert McBride and the subsequent closure of the company in February this year. Scientist McBride founded SensoMetrics in 1989, dedicating himself to the development of consumer metrics for FMCG companies.

Stevens worked for SensoMetrics for 12 years, during which time he conducted research for many of Australia's leading FMCG companies across an array of product categories.

His new firm offers a range of research methods focusing on the consumer product experience. Services include concept, packaging and product analysis using measures such as consumer hedonics, sensory profiling, category audits and benchmarking, and preference testing.

'With the retirement of Dr Robert McBride, an ideal opportunity arose for me to establish Sensory Insights, to continue in the tradition of SensoMetrics,' Stevens explains. 'Along with my highly experienced team, I will continue to service the established SensoMetrics' client base, and look forward to new opportunities to assist quality-focused FMCG producers looking to offer Australian consumers the best products possible.'
