TNS Appoints its First Creative Director

TNS has hired Martin Lambie-Nairn as Creative Director, a new position with a remit to improve the look and feel of the company's deliverables and work with local and global management to develop their creative capabilities.

The agency has recently placed increased emphasis on delivering insights creatively, via programmes including Digital Life (www.discoverdigitallife.com ) and Mobile Life (www.discovermobilelife.com ), and the broad-ranging global positioning exercise DISCOVER.

Lambie-Nairn will work with Global Marketing Director Tim Isaac on the TNS brand identity and will be directly involved in client work and pitches. Internationally known for his broadcast branding work, he formed his first design agency in 1976 and is perhaps best known for his multi-award-winning rebrand of the BBC and his naming and branding of O2. Having diversified from broadcasting into sectors from banking and insurance to retail and telecoms, he sold his agency to WPP in 1999.

Kantar CEO Eric Salama comments: 'I'm thrilled that Martin is joining us. I have long admired his work and his ability to drive creative standards higher and we share a common passion to see creativity at the heart of strategic work. Whenever we really demonstrate our creativity with our clients, they respond extremely positively and we want to embed a creative approach into all of our client work. Martin will be a major catalyst in accelerating this process.'

Martin Lambie-Nairn said, 'I believe that there is fantastic opportunity to boost success by placing creativity at the heart of [TNS'] business.'
