Mirza Launches Mobile Fieldwork

In London, Asif Mirza has set up his own firm, Mobile Fieldwork, to offer mobile research and data collection services to market research, marketing, media and PR agencies, as well as end clients.

Asif MirzaBefore founding the company, Mirza served in business development roles at the iD Factor, Globalpark, ORC International and SPSS. Earlier in his career, he ran his own professional training and coaching firm, LondonMind Consulting.

His new firm offers a bespoke service promising to meet all mobile data collection and data processing requirements across a broad range of sectors.

Respondents can be sent a survey link via SMS or through an e-mail link which can be accessed through their mobile device. Alternatively they can choose to receive surveys through an app linked to their panel membership, or via QR (quick reader) codes which are scanned by smartphones to re-direct the user to an online survey.

The firm's surveys are optimised for more than 9,000 wap-enabled handsets, and are automatically configured according to the make, model and operating system used.

In addition, Mobile Fieldwork offers mixed mode studies using both mobile and online methodologies, with results being merged into the same dataset.

'The UK industry is primed for mobile research with the technology having caught up with the research methodology,' states Mirza. 'We offer agencies the opportunity to conduct mobile research for their clients instantly using our services. It's personal, intimate and it generates richer insights.'
