Viewpoint and Rosslyn Merge under CEO Blears

In the UK, Viewpoint Field Services and Rosslyn Research have merged and been re-branded as Viewpoint Field & Studios under the leadership of Gale Blears, following the departure of former Rosslyn CEO Julian Green.

Gale BlearsLast year, the two firms were sold to media and financial services group Rivington Street Holdings (RSH), in a deal valued at £1.5m. They then moved in to shared premises on London's South Bank.

In a statement, RSH said the latest decision was made due to the large areas of crossover between the two businesses, which have been running parallel to one another for more than 20 years.

Blears, who has been promoted from her previous role as MD of Viewpoint Field Services to the post of Chief Executive Officer of the merged firm, will report to RSH UK Chief Exec Amit Pau, who becomes Chairman of the new Viewpoint.

Pau says of the new CEO: 'Gale's deep level of experience, unique management style and determination to grow the business, will be fundamental as we look forward to expanding our operations. Furthermore, Viewpoint Field & Studios is now profitable, so we are in a far stronger position than we have been in for years. This is definitely an exciting time for the business, and I look forward to working with Gale.' Blears says she is honoured to take on the new role, during a period when the company is strengthening its investment in staff and in its field and studio offerings.

Green founded Viewpoint/Rosslyn's former owner IQ Research in 1998, having previously worked for Euromonitor Publications in roles including Research Manager and Business Development Manager. He has yet to reveal his next career move.
