Ipsos Markinor Launches New SA Omnibus

In South Africa, Ipsos Markinor has introduced a new omnibus serviced called Omni-Express, to help clients measure consumer opinion and attitudes across the country.

Margie TeixeiraMarkinor, founded in 1975, became part of Ipsos in 2007. The firm offers quant and qual expertise including large surveys throughout sub-Saharan Africa.

Last year, the company brought together its field and tab work into a specialist business unit called Observer, which offers data-only projects in addition to omnibus and international research.

The firm's new Omni-Express service includes 600 face-to-face interviews in metropolitan areas including Johannesburg/Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town. Results are delivered on a monthly basis.

Margie Teixeira, Business Unit Director of Observer, states: 'Omni-Express surveys are a quick and cost-effective way to get answers from consumers. Think of an omnibus survey as a research car pool. You save money by sharing a vehicle (the survey) to reach a common destination (the respondents). Although the vehicle is shared, the results of your questions are confidential and available only to you.'
