Funds for Social Media Agency Banyan Branch

US full-service social media agency Banyan Branch has secured a $1.7m Series A investment, which it will use to accelerate company growth and continue development of its technology.

Based in Seattle, WA, the company provides marketing services including strategy, creative, execution and analytics. Earlier this year, it launched a new practice, Social Interactive, to complement its existing Research & Analytics, Strategy and Engagement divisions.

The company is led by an executive team including co-founder and Principal Dave Hanley (pictured), and President Blake Cahill, who was previously Chief Marketing Officer for social media monitoring specialist Visible Technologies.

Hanley comments: 'This funding not only validates our unique methodology and positions us to expand into new verticals, it also allows us to continue helping brands meet their business objectives by delivering unprecedented consumer engagement within social platforms.'

The financing has been led by a group of investors from a number of venture capital companies, as well as several private investors. As a result of the funding, Seattle angel investor Geoff Entress from Voyager Capital will join Banyan Branch's Board of Directors.
