Technomic Launches Booze Data Portal

Food and drink researcher Technomic has developed a new online platform called the Adult Beverage Resource Group, to track US sales of spirits, wine and beer, and provide consumer attitude and usage metrics. Eric Schmidt and Donna Hood Crecca join to help lead the new initiative.

Eric Schmidt and Donna Hood CreccaThe new online platform will provide clients with access to pricing and analysis of the adult beverage market, as well as annual reports, updates and forecasts, and special reports on specific beverage categories and the fastest-growing brands.

The firm plans to release a 'Trends in Adult Beverage' (TAB) report on the spirits category in the early spring, and in addition, TAB reports on wine, beer and the on-premise segment will follow.

Schmidt, who joins as Director of Research, has been tracking and analyzing adult beverage sales and volume trends for ten years, having previously worked for Beverage Information Group and Beverage Marketing Corp.

New Senior Director Hood Crecca has covered adult beverage in both the on-premise and retail markets for nearly two decades, most recently as Publisher and Editorial Director of Nightclub & Bar.

The pair will work closely with Darren Tristano, Head of Technomic's Information Services Group, and EVP David Henkes who comments: 'Technomic has been building a suite of products and services for adult beverage suppliers, and this initiative will deliver the volume data that our clients have been asking for.
