respondi CEO Elected as DGOF Board Director

respondi CEO Otto Hellwig has been elected as a Director on the Board of the German Society for Online Research (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Online Forschung or DGOF), following the resignation of Board Chairman Dr Martin Welker.

Dr Otto Hellwig and Dr Martin WelkerThe DGOF represents German language online research, with membership made up of scientists, users, companies and agencies. In 2010, the organisation partnered with IT security organisation TeleTrusT to develop scientifically accepted standards for conducting online research using secure anonymised processes.

Hellwig takes up his new position on the DGOF Board, after serving as CEO of German sample and panel provider respondi since 2005. Prior to this, he worked for research software firm Globalpark as Director of Market Research, and as Director of Research for Speedfacts (now Toluna). He has served on the DGOF Board since 2005.

Welker was elected as DGOF Board Chairman in 2010, prior to which, he spent five years as its Treasurer. He currently teaches journalism at the Macromedia University of Applied Sciences for Media and Communication in Munich, where his work includes papers on computer assisted reporting, social networks and methods of online data collection.
