eDataSource Buys Boxbe to Extend Email Analytics

New York-based e-mail intelligence specialist eDataSource has acquired inbox watchdog Boxbe. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Carter NicholasFounded in 2003, eDataSource provides competitive intelligence for e-mail, social media and ecommerce activity, based on the monitoring of more than 800,000 consumer inboxes and 9,000 brands. The company also offers analytics products and services for online marketers, publishers and their service providers.

In addition to its eCommerce monitoring service, the company is planning to develop new products and services using its proprietary e-mail analytics capability and consumer panel.

Carter Nicholas (pictured), CEO of eDataSource, comments: 'The acquisition of Boxbe allows us to execute on a roadmap of new products that will help email marketers and ecommerce professionals gain deeper insight into competitive trends. The combination of our data sets is remarkably powerful, and with the knowledge base we have established, we will be diving even deeper to provide our customers the insights they need to benchmark and improve their operations.'

As part of the acquisition, Boxbe founder Thede Loder has joined eDataSource as Chief Technology Officer.
