Constellation Hires Digital Media Expert

In Australia, digital media expert Gavin Heaton has joined Constellation Research as Vice President and Principal Analyst, to lead the firm's 'Digital Marketing Transformation' business.

The firm was set up last November by former Forrester Research analyst R 'Ray' Wang, to provide technology research through a team of analysts who maintain their own consultancies or other roles, while working for Wang's company.

Prior to joining, Heaton (pictured) founded his own Sydney-based digital marketing consultancy, The Social Way, to help clients maximise the value from their investment in digital and social media. In tandem, he worked for SAP America, as Director of Social Media for the SAP Premier Customer Network. Earlier, Heaton was Director of Interactive at Creata, Marketing Manager at DMR Consulting, and Knowledge Team Manager at IBM.

He is also the author of a blog called ServantOfChaos.com, which provides insight into how digital strategy, social media, and disruptive technologies impact marketing professionals.

In his new role, Heaton will focus on the changing role and expectations of CMOs, the fusion of marketing channels and change-driven marketing innovation, while also providing digital marketing research and advisory services to Constellation's clients worldwide.
