Key Lime Cooks Up Mobile UX Firm

In the US, consumer research specialist Key Lime Interactive (KLI) and mobile app development firm Crucian Point have partnered to launch a new company called KLUE Labs, offering a tool that captures mobile user interaction with web sites.

Ania RodriguezThe new firm's KLUE Mobile tool provides designers and researchers with instant video clips of users' on-screen activity and gestures, as well as their comments. Clients can either use their own list of iOS users or tap into KLUE Labs' panel, and participants can be targeted by demographics such as gender, age, education, household income and location.

Once a study is live, KLUE Labs will notify participants via e-mail or push notification, and users can then take part from anywhere in the world at a time convenient for them. In addition, optional follow up surveys can be used to gather satisfaction metrics.

KLI founder and CEO Ania Rodriguez (pictured) says that unlike other remote testing products for mobile, KLUE Mobile does not require any modifications to an existing mobile site.

'Our researchers are spending a lot of time observing and surveying users to intimately understand mobile behavior and trends for our clients,' states Rodriguez. 'In doing this, we identified that a tool that would allow us to capture the same data remotely, would help our clients reduce the time spent on various design cycles, and save them money.'
