ARF CEO Bob Barocci to Retire

Bob Barocci, the President and CEO of the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), is to retire at the end of the year and move to a senior advisory role after his successor is named.

Bob BarocciARF's membership comprises more than 400 advertisers, ad agencies, associations, research firms, and media companies, and its mission is to improve the practice of advertising, marketing and research 'in pursuit of smarter and more effective marketing communications for business growth'.

Barocci (pictured) joined in 2003 after a 26 year ad industry career which included working as Director of Central/East Europe at Young and Rubicam, co-founding agency McConnaughy Barocci Brown, and spending 21 years at Leo Burnett where he latterly served as President of Leo Burnett International. Just prior to ARF, he was Director of Communications at New School University.

Recruitment company Transitionsearch has been enlisted to search for Barocci's successor who is expected to join next spring. The Board said it expects that the incoming President will 'craft a bold agenda and set an aggressive pace toward defining the future for the ARF and for the industry'. The new recruit will oversee a 2013 budget of $9.4m and the organization's team of 35.
