Australian Web Audit Service Out to Tender

The Audited Media Association of Australia (AMAA) has put out to tender a contract to measure a new range of metrics to be included in its Web Audit Service. The organisation's existing service has been audited by Nielsen for the past four years.

Paul DovasInstead of this exclusive partnership with Nielsen, AMAA is now looking for a partner for each of the new metrics. These are under review but are likely at first to include page impressions, unique browsers and unique devices, and later to add in viewable impressions.

According to CEO Paul Dovas (pictured), the AMAA particularly wants to explore the introduction of a monthly unique device metric, which he says is critical for smaller specialist and niche publishers who no longer have access to a monthly unique browser or unique audience metric.

Dovas explains: 'We have valued our working relationship and partnership with Nielsen, however, since the launch of the web audit services in 2009, our members' measurement needs have evolved. The AMAA has been keen to maintain a relationship with Nielsen and would welcome the opportunity to continue to work with Nielsen in some capacity under the new arrangement.'

Interested parties are invited to submit proposals by 24 May 2013. Once the new service has been launched, AMAA will then focus on delivery across mobile and video.

The news comes less than a month after IAB Australia announced it had extended its national online audience measurement contract with Nielsen, without putting it out to tender.
