MMR Debuts Survey App

MMR Research Worldwide has launched a real-time, point-of-purchase survey app called MyDiaLog, which allows users to share videos, pictures and audio clips recorded on their smartphones.

The app is available on Android and iPhone platforms. Surveys can be completed and responses saved off-line for later transmission. MMR says its initial trials have shown very high levels of engagement, thanks in part to the 'soft gamification and intuitive nature of the questions' - and to a 'golden rule... that surveys never take longer than two to three minutes to complete'.

Pippa Bailey, the firm's Innovations Director, comments: 'The increasing penetration of Smartphones has created the ideal channel via which to make real time data capture inclusive and widely accessible. The average person now looks at their phone 150 times a day and we are able to capitalise on this habitual use and the convenience factor, for the capturing of sound, video and pictures.' She adds: 'The App will give our food, drink, personal and household care clients immediate access to consumer behaviour and opinions and with far greater accuracy as we're no longer relying on memory.'

MMR Research Worldwide has offices in the UK, USA, Singapore and China, and is part of the privately-owned, Oxford, UK-based MMR Group, employing just over 130 people. Web site: www.mmr-research.com .

Earlier this month, US firm Civicom Marketing Research Services launched an app through which consumers can 'dial in' and record their thoughts while out shopping.
