Datorama Secures $3m for Big Data Platform

In New York, cross-platform media analytics firm Datorama has raised $3m in a Series A round of funding, which it will use to support the continued development and marketing of its big data platform.

Ran SarigDatorama's patent-pending technology facilitates the integration of 'any' marketing data source - including TV, social media, SEM, online display and video, e-mail, internal sales data, and print - to enable marketers and agencies to understand which channels are working. Along with its office in New York, the firm has operations in London, Tel Aviv and Sydney.

Of the firm's founding team, CEO Ran Sarig (pictured) and CTO Efi Cohen previously served as VP R&D and VP Technology respectively at MediaMind. Chief Solutions Officer Katrin Ribant joined from Havas Digital, where she served as EVP of the global Big Data Analytics unit.

Funding has been led by Cedar Fund and Eric Schmidt's Innovation Endeavors, and brings the total raised to date to $3.75m, which includes a seed round from private investors in 2012.

Sarig comments: 'Having worked with marketers and agencies for the last eight years, we established Datorama and developed our cross-channel marketing analytics platform to finally solve the industry's biggest pain point - understanding which marketing is working and which isn't.'
