QSR Links NVivo with SurveyMonkey

Australian firm QSR International has combined its flagship qual research software NVivo with SurveyMonkey's DIY research tool, which it says will make it easier for individuals to collect, organize, understand and report on open-ended survey responses.

John Owen and Dave GoldbergFirst launched in 1999 and available in a number of languages, NVivo helps users organise and analyse non-numerical or unstructured data, and examine relationships in that data, whether through conversation analysis, ethnography, literature reviews or other methods.

The integration with SurveyMonkey's new Data APIs means qual researchers will be able to access research outcomes faster, says QSR CEO John Owen. 'Those working with open-ended SurveyMonkey survey responses can now use an import function to bring data into NVivo for in-depth analysis, putting NVivo's search, query, and visualization tools to work to uncover subtle connections, justify findings, and make sense of detailed answers,' he states.

SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg says the analysis of open-ended responses will provide a 'huge benefit' for his firms' users.
