Senior Changes for Lightspeed

Online specialist Lightspeed Research (LSR) has appointed David Shanker to the newly created role of The Americas Chief Executive Officer, and promoted Daniel S. Fitzgerald to global Chief Client and Marketing Officer.

Shanker joins from NYC-based digital MR provider PINCHme, where he has been CEO since 2012. Before this, he worked in senior positions at Ipsos, OTX Research and Information Resources Inc. In his new role, he will lead the Lightspeed brand in the Americas region, in addition to that of its panels and technology subsidiary GMI. Chris Urinyi moves from being Lightspeed's CEO The Americas to COO Americas (Lightspeed and GMI), responsible for optimizing operations and driving excellence in client delivery across the Americas region.

As Chief Client and Marketing Officer, Fitzgerald will lead the company's global product development, marketing, research-on-research and corporate development, working closely with the global and regional leadership teams to fully integrate a 'client-first culture'. He previously led the combined GMI and LSR Americas external business, following the 2011 acquisition, and before that was VP, General Manager of GMI Americas from 2007.

Both Shanker and Fitzgerald will report to Lightspeed President and Global CEO David Day, who says they bring 'an intense focus on achieving excellence in all aspects of client service'. He adds: 'This new organizational structure leverages their expertise and will sharpen our focus on the evolving research needs of our diverse client base'.
