GDCC Opens Call Centre in Istanbul

Data collection firm GDCC has opened a new 30-seat call centre in Istanbul, supporting its existing facility in the Netherlands, where it has promoted Karl Fieldhouse to the role of Operations Manager, and Melanie van Schijndel to New Project Director.

GDCC Opens Call Centre in IstanbulFounded in 1998, GDCC (Global Data Collection Company) provides international telephone and fieldwork services to market research agencies around the world. The firm currently has a 160-seat centre in Rotterdam, from where it offers CATI and mixed mode, as well as a full range of data collection services.

Business Development Director Sanne Krom says Istanbul was selected because of Turkey's huge population of native speakers of various EU languages, most noticeably German, French and Dutch. The new operation is led by Soner Basboga, who has spent the last twelve years managing various call centres in the Netherlands and Istanbul.

Separately, in Rotterdam, Fieldhouse moves into his new role after nearly seven years with the company, and will now be responsible for the day-to-day running of all GDCC call centre locations. Van Schijndel is promoted after three years with the firm, and as well as managing larger/more complex projects will now also be responsible for managing the project management and data processing teams. Krom says the promotions will free-up the managing partners' time, to enable them to focus on strategy and new facilities.
