Former IDC Exec Launches TECHnalysis Research

Former IDC Vice President Bob O'Donnell has launched his own technology market research and consulting firm, TECHnalysis Research, in Foster City, California.

O'Donnell (pictured) spent the past fourteen years at IDC, where he most recently served as Program VP, Clients and Displays. He began his career there as Research Manager covering monitor and display technologies, and was latterly responsible for the company's worldwide mobile phone, tablet, PC and thin client research, as well as the ODM production of notebooks. He also led the firm's display research program, tracking both sales and technology trends affecting the worldwide market for monitors, TVs and related technologies. Earlier, he held magazine editorial posts at Music Technology, Electronic Musician, MacWeek, PC Computing and InfoWorld Electric.

TECHnalysis will provide consulting and market research services to the technology industry and professional financial community, with a focus on client devices and the supply chain, mobile transformation of the enterprise, and personal device usage trends. Services include strategic advice, message testing, and custom, project-based research, along with research deliverables such as scenario-based forecasts, quick pulse surveys and industry commentary and analysis.
