TNS South Africa's Du Chenne Moves to Istanbul

TNS South Africa CEO Karin Du Chenne is handing over her role to Rob Powell, and relocating to Istanbul where she will take up the position of Regional Director Business Development for AMME (Africa, Mediterranean and Middle East).

Karin Du ChenneDu Chenne became CEO last January, having previously served as MD. She has more than twenty years' industry experience, during which time she has worked with a range of large multinational and local clients in the FMCG, financial and technology sectors. In 1992, she joined Research Surveys, and she was appointed MD in 2006 prior to the company's acquisition by TNS the following year.

She takes over her new regional role from Margarita Putter who has now retired after 30 years with the business and whose career path Du Chenne's has closely resembled: she began her research career with TNS Healthcare in London before moving to Cape Town in 1983 to join Research Surveys, where she latterly served as MD, and was then CEO of TNS South Africa.

On moving to Istanbul, where her husband is taking up an 'unmissable job opportunity', Du Chenne will be replaced by Rob Powell, who has held senior roles within the MR sector for the past fifteen years, having previously led both TNS Johannesburg and TNS Sydney.

Commenting on the changes, Powell said: 'I am grateful to Karin for guiding the business through a successful 2013, and setting us up for a great 2014. I am exceptionally privileged to be able to take over the lead of a successful business, with great client relationships, and full to the brim of exceptional researchers with exciting new ideas.'

Du Chenne says Powell will bring 'incredible energy, creativity, and client insight to the role'.
