Retail Intelligence Firm Smarter Remarketer Gets $7m

Retail customer intelligence specialist Smarter Remarketer has secured $7m in venture funding, which it will use to drive growth and expand the capabilities of its platform.|

The firm is based in Indianopolis and collects online behavioral data / web analytics, combining this with transactional and demographic data. Its software then enables retailers to send intelligence-driven, targeted communication to visitors across multiple channels. In addition, the company's Metrics feature enables retailers to understand why consumers are abandoning their shopping carts, and how much of this potential revenue can be re-captured.

New funding has been led by Battery Ventures, and represents the first institutional funding round for Smarter Remarketer.
