Restructured Cello Reports Big Revenue Rise

UK-based insight and marketing services group Cello has reported an 18.2% increase in revenue to £159.7m for the year to 31st December 2013.

Mark ScottCello has two operating divisions: Cello Signal (previously known as Cello Consumer and now encompassing social media and mobile research, and digital communications services) and Cello Health. Earlier this month, the group unified its health-oriented agencies under the Cello Health brand, bringing together five existing businesses: Insight Research Group, The MSI Consultancy, Cello Business Sciences (a web-based analytic offering for pharmaceutical clients), MedErgy HealthGroup and Mash Health Group.

Overall for the group, annual gross profit was up 14.8% to £74.7m, from £65.1m the previous year. Of this, Cello Health saw a 13.8% increase in gross profit to £35.6m, while Cello Signal reported a 15.7% increase to £37.8m. Group headline profit before tax was up 21.1% to £8.5m (2012: £7.0m).

CEO Mark Scott (pictured) commented: 'Both Cello Health and Cello Signal have very clear, focused growth strategies, underpinned by robust management structures. We are confident that both businesses will continue on their growth paths and deliver a successful 2014 performance for the group as a whole.'
