Indestinate Wins Prize for Location Targeting Challenge

In the UK, 'destination management firm' Indestinate has been named one of the five winners of a contest run by government body IC tomorrow, for a platform using near real-time and historic location data to deliver personalised travel experiences.

Prize for IndestinateThe competition invited entrants to tackle five data challenges - from processing and commercialising of data, to mapping and analytics. Fifteen firms pitched their ideas to the judging panel, and five were selected to receive £25k of prize money each, along with the opportunity to partner with a high-profile organisation in a bid to help UK businesses extract greater value from data.

Indestinate responded to a mobile data commercialisation challenge set by mobile giant EE, and the pair will now work together to trial the resulting location data solution. Other competition winners included Release Consulting, Inform Architecture, Matrix Knowledge and Peter Balman for meeting challenges fielded by Ingram Content Group, Ordnance Survey, Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust, and the British Library respectively.

Matt Sansam, Programme Manager at IC tomorrow, commented: 'We had an excellent response to this competition and were impressed by the quality and breadth of solutions presented. We'd like to thank all the entrants to this contest and look forward to seeing the winning products and services come to life over the coming months.'
