D&B Hires Former AOL Chief Technology Officer

Business information provider Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) has appointed AOL's former Global CTO Curtis Brown as Chief Information Officer (CIO), responsible for the firm's portfolio of technology, proprietary data and related intellectual property.

D&B's global commercial database contains more than 225 million business records. Earlier this year, the firm acquired the social media data matching unit of online data aggregation specialist Fliptop, as well as cloud-based analytics and business intelligence specialist Indicee.

Brown (pictured) joins from AOL, where he worked for the past four years, most recently as Global Chief Technology Officer, responsible for technology strategy and execution. Prior to this he was CTO at educational testing firm Kaplan, CTB/McGraw-Hill, The Princeton Review, and Oxygen Media.

In his new role, Brown reports to COO Josh Peirez, who comments: 'As we continue to develop our technology offerings and revolutionize the delivery of our data and services for our customers, we need leaders with a proven record of addressing complex business problems at scale. Curtis's experience building world-class technical products and platforms, and transforming technology systems and functions will prove invaluable as we speed towards a more modern and progressive approach.'
