Magazine Buy Adds Panel for Healthcare Specialist

In the US, Michael J. Hennessy Associates (MJH), a full service healthcare MR and communications firm, has acquired CURE Media Group, publisher of a cancer patient magazine with more than one million readers. The buy will strengthen its research division, HRA.

Healthcare MR Specialist MJH Acquires CURE Patient MagThe free CURE magazine is distributed to cancer patients, centers and advocacy groups. As part of the acquisition, CURE will join MJH's OncLive platform of resources for practising oncologists, which includes up-to-date information for cancer care professionals; a range of monthly and quarter publications; the Peer Exchange and OncInsights video series; and the OncLive News network. OncLive is also the official communications partner of Physicians' Education Resource (PER), an educational resource for live and online activities focusing on oncology and hematology.

Tighe Blazier, President of MJH, comments: 'CURE makes an excellent addition to the MJH family. It completes the loop between the physician and patient for OncLive and provides a forum for patient engagement within the PER-accredited medical education program, as well as a patient panel for HRA - Healthcare Research & Analytics, our market research company.'

MJH has acquired Cure Media Group from McKesson Specialty Health, a division of McKesson Corporation, and terms of the deal were not disclosed.
