Informa Veteran Moellenbeck to Retire

Business information and events group Informa has announced that Alfred Moellenbeck, MD of its Euroforum subsidiary for the last 25 years, will retire at the end of 2014. His role will be filled by Ann-Marie Brems, reporting directly to Andrew Mullins, CEO of the group's Knowledge & Networking Division.

After graduating from Helmut Schmidt University in Hamburg, Moellenbeck served as an officer in the German Bundeswehr. He took up the Euroforum MD role in 1989 when he joined IBC to launch its German subsidiary, and in the 1990s grew its revenue to more then DM 100m. He was made an Executive Director of Informa and in 2004 was appointed Overseas Conference Director, overseeing events businesses in Australia, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe. Following Informa's acquisition of IIR in 2005, he became Regional Director Europe, Latam and South Africa.

Group CEO Stephen A. Carter comments: 'On behalf of Informa, I would like to thank Alfred for his significant contribution to the Group through the last twenty-five years, and wish him well in his retirement. Alfred has been instrumental in building Informa's presence in Germany, across Europe and further afield.'

The announcement comes just two weeks after Informa USA and IFI President & CEO Kenneth Bohlin announced he would retire at the end of the year.

The group is online at www.informa.com .
