iMotions Partners with UNO for Neuromarketing Lab

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) has partnered with eye tracking and biometric sensor software provider iMotions to open a neuromarketing-focused research facility, for use by scholars studying human responses to online advertising messages.

Neuromarketing Lab Opens at UNOThe new 'Jack & Stephanie Koraleski Commerce and Applied Behavioral Laboratory' (CAB Lab) will be led by a core research group comprised of faculty from the College of Business Administration and the College of Information Science and Technology. Initial projects will include the examination of the cognitive processes behind the development of novel solutions to strategic management problems.

iMotions has provided the equipment/technology and software housed in the lab, to support services such as eye-tracking, electroencephelography (EEG) and the monitoring of pupil dilation, facial expression and skin conductance (GSR). In addition, CAB Lab features a mobile component, which can be used in field research.

Assistant Professor of Management Erin Pleggenkuhle-Miles comments: 'What is so exciting about the CAB Lab is the opportunity it provides for researchers and students alike. Not only do faculty now have access to cutting-edge technologies that will provide a unique look inside the black-box of human cognition and behavior, but students have the opportunity to engage in that research - be it through participation in a study, or in assisting in research design.'
