Senior Shuffle for GfK ANZ

Former Nielsen Indonesia MD Catherine Eddy is to join GfK in January as Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand. She takes over the role from Gary Lamb and Juergen Merz, who are moving to new positions within the group.

Catherine EddyLamb, who has been MD for GfK's Consumer Choices arm in Australia and New Zealand for the past fifteen years, will become Executive Director, providing strategic support for the firm's local and regional business on a part-time basis. Merz, who will step down from the three-year secondment as MD for Consumer Experience next April, will take up a new post in GfK outside Australia.

Eddy (pictured) joins after six years at Nielsen, latterly as MD in Indonesia, and earlier as an Executive Director for Indonesia and Vietnam. Earlier, she set up a consultancy business for Colmar Brunton in South Australia and Northern Territory, having begun her research career at the University of Australia, where she worked for more than eleven years.

Commenting on her new position, Eddy said: 'I am thrilled at this opportunity and I am certain that my career and experience to date puts me in an excellent position to lead GfK's Australia and NZ business in its next chapter of growth, building on the significant achievements under the leadership of Gary and Juergen.'
