Macromill and CareNet Form Medical MR JV in Tokyo

Online research specialist Macromill has formed a joint venture (JV) with medical information provider CareNet, in Tokyo, to provide marketing research services across the medical sector.

CareNet offers medical information for physicians through Internet, audio and videos, as well as support services to enhance business operations. Its market research division collects data from physicians relating to the development and marketing of medicines.

The new JV, known as Macromill-CareNet, will combine Macromill's research expertise with CareNet's curated physician panel, to help pharmaceutical companies with the delivery of complex studies. The initiative will be led by Macromill's Sekiguchi NobuYasushi and CareNet director Yoshiro Morohashi.

Macromill's Global CEO Han de Groot comments: 'We are significantly expanding our Internet-based doctor and patient panels for our pharmaceutical clients in Japan. To this end, we will work closely with our global pharmaceutical clients to determine the footprint of our medical insights services beyond Japan.'
