WPP Acquires Digital Agency Clarus

In Mexico, WPP has acquired digital agency Clarus, which lists research and digital consumer insights among its services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Maria Teresa ArnalFounded in 2009 by former ProdigyMSN CEO Maria Teresa Arnal (pictured), Clarus helps clients develop marketing strategies on digital platforms through a range of creative and digital strategy, community management, media planning, social media and SEM services.

The Mexico City-based firm, which employs 112 people, is on target to achieve revenues of MXN$108m (c.US$7.4m) in 2014.

In a statement, WPP said the acquisition is part of its commitment to developing its strategic networks throughout Latin America, where the group collectively generates revenues of US$1.6 billion and employs 20,000 people. In Mexico alone, WPP (including associates) generates revenues of almost US$200m and employs more than 2,000 people.
