Invoke and AMS Merge

US-based technology specialists Invoke Solutions and Academic Management Systems (AMS) have merged to create a new company, serving both the market research and academic sectors. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Basil BennettInvoke offers software for real-time, large-scale qual and quant market research, while AMS' product supports teaching and learning in higher education. The latter includes its flagship student/course ratings system CoursEval, which is used to identify whether students are engaged, and whether course objectives have been met. With the merger, the AMS team will build on both firms' existing technology, CoursEval customers will have access to Invoke Solutions' qual-quant tool set, and Invoke clients will be able to use AMS' data management and DIY features.

While both companies will continue to operate independently, they will be led by Invoke President & CEO Basil Bennett (pictured), and share software development, engineering, back office resources, and financial management. Invoke will remain headquartered in the Boston, MA area; AMS will maintain its Buffalo, NY headquarters; and the company will also have satellite offices in NYC, Stamford, CT, Chicago, Kansas City area, Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Commenting on the deal, Bennett said: 'In addition to creating an exciting opportunity for our company and our customers, we now have a powerful product portfolio that enables us to compete more effectively in higher education, market research and employee HR engagement.'
