Cumulus Hires Arbitron's Bouvard

In New York, radio broadcaster Cumulus Media has hired Arbitron veteran Pierre Bouvard for the newly created role of Chief Marketing Officer, in charge of insights, data-driven targeting, and measurement solutions for advertisers.

Pierre BouvardCumulus is the second largest owner and operator of AM and FM radio stations in the United States, and combines local programming with nationally syndicated media, sports and entertainment brands. Its content is distributed through approximately 460 owned-and-operated stations in 90 US media markets, approximately 8,500 broadcast radio affiliates and numerous digital channels.

Bouvard (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' experience in media research, purchaser targeting and advertiser ROI measurement, as well as senior leadership roles in sales, marketing and operations. Most recently, he served as SVP of Sales for TiVo Research & Analytics, where he led cross-media targeting and sales lift measurement projects. Before this, he was Arbitron's EVP Cross-Platform Services, in charge of a new division creating TV and digital multi-media measurement apps, and earlier he was the company's President/EVP Sales & Marketing, overseeing a 200-person sales and service division. He worked earlier as EVP at Coleman Insights.

In his new role, Bouvard is charged with leading Cumulus' marketing strategy and with developing targeting apps for advertisers and agencies. He will report to President and CEO Lew Dickey, who comments: 'Pierre is one of the radio industry's most effective advocates.
