NatCen Names Interim Chief Operating Officer

In the UK, NatCen Social Research has appointed Phil Doggett as interim Chief Operating Officer, replacing CEO Penny Young who is leaving in in mid-May to join the House of Commons.

Phil DoggettDoggett (pictured) has spent a number of years working in higher education establishments on interim assignments, most recently as Interim Finance Director at the National Film and Television School. Prior to this he held similar roles at The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama, University of The Arts, and worked as a consultant at The Electoral Commission, London Metropolitan University, Goldsmiths University, Royal Holloway University of London, the Identity and Passport Service, and the University of Surrey.

He will join NatCen on 13th April, as Young leaves to take up the position of House of Commons Librarian and Director General, Information Services. Doggett will continue in the interim role until NatCen finds a permanent replacement for Young.

Bob Burgess, Chair of NatCen, comments: 'Phil has a strong financial and commercial background, and also experience of working with research departments in universities, so he will be well placed to lead NatCen until we appoint a permanent CEO.'
