Launch Funds for Photo Insight Platform GlimpzIt

In the US, consumer video poll platform Glimpzlt is launching out of beta with a $1.1m seed funding round.

Parry Bedi and Sami KaipaThe San Francisco-based firm, set up last year by software developers Parry Bedi and Sami Kaipa, enables marketers to have real-time conversations with consumers who communicate using photos taken predominantly on smart phones. Through the platform, clients can ask a question and choose their audience - GlimpzIt then collects and curates the resulting picture/video responses from mobile consumers, and processes the inputs using data science techniques.

New funds come from Founder's Co-op, David Humphrey, and Seattle Angel Conference. Bedi comments: 'Images are not only the way people communicate now but are also a virtual treasure trove of insightful data for companies looking to better understand and connect with their consumers. At GlimpzIt, we believe that marketers should look to reach and engage with consumers on their terms, and more and more this means on mobile and through images.'
