Jameson to Leave GfK

GfK has named Ben van der Werf to succeed company veteran Richard Jameson as head of its Consumer Experiences business in the UK, plus the Nordics and Baltics. Jameson leaves in mid-May after more than 25 years at the firm, to pursue as yet unspecified 'new opportunities'.

Ben van der WerfIn his most recent role as COO of Consumer Experiences for the UK, Nordics and Baltics, Jameson helped to implement the matrix structure and One GfK strategy. He previously served as Deputy MD and then in 2009, MD of GfK NOP, adding this to his role as MD of the firm's Business and Technology division. Prior to this he was International Sector Leader for Technology markets worldwide, and prior to GfK's acquisition of NOP World, he was the latter's Global Head of Technology.

Debbie Pruent, Member of the Management Board of GfK and COO of the Consumer Experiences sector, comments: 'Richard Jameson has always brought a high level of commercial acumen, integrity and humanity to his work. Myself and my colleagues on the Management Board truly regret that he has chosen to leave the Company and wish him the very best for his personal and professional future.'

van der Werf (pictured) joined GfK in 2014from Nielsen, where he held various management positions in the Netherlands, Hong Kong and the UK across Retail & CPG, and Media & Advertising. Most recently, he served as Market Leader Benelux & Nielsen Global AdView. He moves up from a strategic role in the Audience Measurement and Insights division.

Pruent says the appointment will boost the firm's UK operations as van der Werf 'brings particular experience in the digital field and the media business'. She adds: 'He and the strong team in the UK, one of our most important markets in the world, will continue to develop the business in line with our strategy of global products and further integration.'
