SITO Debuts Pre/Post Movie Ad Targeting

In the US, location-based ad platform SITO Mobile has rolled out a solution called Project Lynx, through which clients can first advertise a product on the big screen, and then target moviegoers' mobile devices with messages relating to that ad.

SITO Debuts Pre/Post Movie Ad TargetingSITO Mobile will underpin the solution with a combination of third-party data and that collected by its own technology, including through geo-fencing and beacons. The solution has been launched in partnership with national cinema advertising provider Screenvision, and allows advertisers to deliver ads on the cinema screen prior to the movie, and then reinforce them via mobile devices shortly after the movie ends - improving both audience recall and brand awareness.

In addition, a retailer that advertised on the big screen would be able to deliver a coupon with a short-term expiration to the personal screen, for example to drive traffic to a nearby store location; or a restaurant that placed a cinema ad before the movie began.
