Funds for Visual Analytics Firm Arcadia Data

In the US, visual analytics and business intelligence provider Arcadia Data has closed an $11.5m Series A funding round, which it will use to double the size of the product development, sales and marketing teams, and expand its portfolio of products.

The firm's Converged Analytics solution unifies visual exploration and data analytics into one integrated platform that runs on Hadoop. Arcadia Instant is a downloadable version of the visual analytics component of this, while Arcadia Enterprise is the company's flagship product used by businesses to derive insights from their data.

The new funding round has been led by Mayfield, with additional investment from Blumberg Capital and Intel Capital.
