Amadeus Launches Agency Insight Suite

Travel industry technology firm Amadeus has launched a suite of intelligence tools giving travel agents worldwide access to data and insights for business growth and strategic decision-making.

Giving travel agents a lift - new data products from Amadeus'Amadeus Agency Insight' has been developed by the firm's Travel Intelligence unit and uses big data technologies to help uncover potential new routes and markets, analyse travellers' search behaviour, and compare performance against that of competitors - among other potential uses.

Two initial modules have been launched. Search Analysis pans search data to help find the most popular destinations, travel dates, and trip duration - and help anticipate demand. Booking Analysis allows travel agencies to benchmark their market position and evaluate the competition; and track trends in routes and airlines.

The company, which itself processes around one billion transactions each day, says these and future releases within the suite are based around the 'Amadeus Travel Intelligence Engine', a cloud-based big data platform which is flexible for integration with existing business intelligence set-ups.

Head of Travel Intelligence Pascal Clement says the two products 'will empower travel agents to leverage data and target the right travellers at the right time', and adds: 'From a business perspective, this also helps travel agents increase their value to their partners'.
